Now we are visiting South Africa from 8th February, 2016 with the delegation of Gandhi Peace Mission consisting of peace activists, academicians, artists, media men, social activists and youths representing the different segments of Indian society on the occasion of 100th year of Gandhiji’s return to India from South Africa. This Peace Mission is led by the eminent Gandhian Scholar Prof Dr. N. Radhakrishnan and other senior members are Prof. Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor, Lake Jagaran University, Bhopal, Prof. Sankar Kumar Sanyal, President, All India Harijan Sevak Sangh, Delhi, Dr J Alaxander, IAS (Retd) former Chief Secretary & Cabinet Minister of Govt of Karnataka, Chairman, Symphony TV, Asianet News, Dr. N.Gopalakrishnan Nair, Secretary, Gandhi Peace Mission, Adv. Pazhakulam Madhu, Chairman, Tour Fed, Govt of Kerala, Sri M. P. Vincent, MLA, Kerala, Dr. Shiraz Bava of C-DIT, Govt of Kerala, K S Geetha, M N G PAnikkar, MD. RMPC, Adv M V Jayan, NYK,Saju Madhavan, The team proposes to visit places and institutions connected with Gandhi in Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Phoenix, Tolstoy Farm and salute and thank the great South African Nation and its courageous people who were responsible in a sense for the miraculous spiritual transformation of the young Barrister Gandhi into a Mahatma. A meeting was held on 9th at Consulate Office at Durban with R Raghunathan, Consul General of India, Ela Gandhi & others spoke in the meeting. This is the 2nd time I am visiting South Africa. The first time I visited South Africa was in September 2006 to attend the programme of 100 years of Satyagraha, which was held in Durban exquisitely organized by Gandhi Development Trust in association with Kwa-Zulu Natal Government at the Durban University of Technology at the initiative of Gandhiji’s granddaughter, Ms. Ela Gandhi.
