In recognition of his services to the society, Sri A.L. Dias, the Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal appointed him as Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in the year 1972. In this onerous post he was the youngest one of the country.
Recipient of 'National Unity Award' from Gyani Zail Singh, former President of India for outstanding services, achievements and contributions in the field of social work in 1990.
Recipient of 'Non-Conventional Energy Award' from Sri Surendra Mohan, Chairman, KVIC awarded for incomparable achievement in the field of Non-Conventional Energy particularly in Improved Chullah Programme on 5th July 1997 on the occasion of attainment of 35 years of NCE Programme of KVIC & RERDA-INDIA under the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (MNES).
Recipient of 'Moonis Raza Memorial Award' by Global Association of NRI (Non Resident Indians) in recognition of exemplary contribution to National Development, International Understanding, Peace, Enrichments of life and for outstanding achievements in the field of specialization at the institution of Engineers (India) New Delhi on 3rd April 1998.
Recipient of 'International Man of the Year - 1997-98' awarded by the Editorial Board of International Biographical Centre (IBC), Cambridge, England on 28th April 1998. The IBC is a non-political, secular organization publishing, among other works, many highly respected International Who's Who Biographical titles.
Recipient of 'MSPI outstanding Personalities - 1998' and awarded Certificate of Merit by the Management Studies Promotion Institute, New Delhi in their Biographical publication on 30th October 1998.
Recipient of 'Award for National Integration and Social Work' from Prof. Ashish Bandopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, Calcutta University awarded by the Calcutta University National Integration Council on 26th January 2005 for contribution in the field of social work and national integration.
